Journey to Windstorm (Day 3)

We all got ready 8:45am and went straight to the venue to register. I claimed my Photographer pass and also registered on the photography contest (just for fun). Riders are coming one by one. Exchanged short greetings and smiles.

Hunger is setting in so we went to the nearest coffee shop had megoreng , rice, spicy fried chicken and eggs. Renz and Coco had Milo me a traditional Malay coffee. Cal and Anton went to the other stall buy some Chinese food. The riders we bump into last night is also having breakfast there so few chats and giggles staring at each others bikes.

After the quick breakfast we went back to the venue but the skate board event is till up. So we ask Botah and Matsu Mas (Malaysian Riders) to look for a spot to ride. They also don't know where to ride because Matsu Mas is from Kedah (somewhere in Malaysia and very far fron the venue) and Botah from Kuala Lumpur. It's all our first time to be there. They're also staying on the same Hotel as ours. So we ride around told by security to avoid riding inside the mall (we get alot of that) finally we found one just in front of the coach ticketing office. I set my camera... BOOM! The best jam ever!!!

Journey to Windstorm (Day 2)

I still need to go to work. I have a big deadline and presentation on Friday afternoon (5th June 2009) and we have to reach Harbor Front Aeroline Station 4pm for baggage check-in. Speed and creativity does not go along with each other but I made it possible. Presentation done around lunch time. Rush at the nearest MRT station and fled home. Reached there 3pm. At home - I saw my local BMX street rider frinds and they ponted me where our two pinoy heroes went. Riding at my solemn shelter spot at Chua Chu Kang. I took few photos and video just to warm-up my camera for the big event.

After practicing we rush to my place and packed our things. There's a problem getting a cab in Singapore because of our three BMX bikes. I called the taxi hot line to book a cab but the big cabs are fully booked. We waited at least 20 minute for a good Samaritan. Finally a taxi came he is petty nice he allowed 2 bike in the trunk and one on the back seat. Everything is loaded and we are ready to go!

We reached Harbor Front on time. Anton was there waiting but Cal is no where on sight. He went to toilet accompanied by his girlfriend. Said their goodbyes and smooch-smooch. The crew is complete so we go to 2nd level to collect out tickets at the Coach office. We got the tix but only one problem. We have to pay for the "Tag Fee" two tags for each bike so 20 bucks per head. We didn't expect that because I called ticketing office first and confirmed that is okay to have the bikes. We just payed and board the bus. It's almost 6pm we should be moving 5:30pm. It's all good. No worries. About 4 hours trip and the coach is showing "Home Alone" and "Home Alone 2" at first its was boring we started laughing out guts out when it's the part were the two robbers got boobie trapped by a little kid. The served Megoreng (stir fried noodles) a tratitional Malay food. Sleep a bit and before we know it where already at Mines Shopping Center at Seri Kembangan Malaysia.

We arrive at Mines Shopping Center around 10pm. Not bat I expect us to reach around 11pm. We met up with the Thai riders (Toon & Ex) and few Singaporean riders (Simon, Boh-Siong & Hapiz). Chat a bit then we ride from the mall to our hotel. Good night Malaysia. Sleep tight tomorrow will be a long day for all of us.

Journey to Windstorm

It's been quite a while when pinoy BMX flatland riders join a competition outside Philippines. The time is now to show them that we have our own big guns. Those big guns has names; Coco and Renz. Who the hell are these guys? Haven't heard of them - probably the first thought that comes up on other rider's mind. The thing is these two fellas are low profile riders that happens to love the sport and from that people supports them. I guess humbleness and friendliness is the key that makes these two guys one of the favorites in the Pinoy flatland scene. I don't really do blogs but I hope this will help the flipcrew and members to follow the journey of our two heroes in Windstorm. Sit back relax and enjoy the ride with us from Singapore to Malaysia.

Coco and Renz reach Singapura around 1pm than reach Esplanade around 3pm. They told me they're waiting there around 2 hours and they're both freakin hungry (they could eat a cow). Good thing ma' men Aton (Ares Rider) came to meet them. I'm stuck at the office finishing my deadline. I have a submision on Friday afternoon and we have to reach the Coach Station at 4pm. My place is very far from there but we all manage to came on time. Back to Esplanade... they had a small flatland jam and photo session with Calvin, Jon and Anton at the Citylink Esplanande underground pass. It's almost 8pm I saw Coco sleeping on the granite floor. He's dying of hunger. So we go right away to Baikoken one of our favorite ramen house in the area.

After having a nice bowl of ramen we went straight to where the Merlion is. We had again a bit of photo session with the big lion blowing water on the Singapura River. I was very eager to shot them riding with the merlion as a back ground but security might catch us and we might get in trouble. O well... posing like a tourist (which they really are) will do for the moment.

After the photo session and few laughs we go back home so Coco and Renz can rest their jet-logged heads. The next day will be exciting. What will happen next... I don't know. We'll see. Ciao!
